Rosie has arrived

David dropped Rosie off a few minutes ago, and aside from a hatred of our kitchen floor (slick tiles) she seems to like us and be relatively comfortable with the house. She is such a sweet dog!

Since she’s so freaked out by the kitchen tiles I’ve set up her food and water in powder room off the living room instead of setting her up in the kitchen as I’d originally planned.

Kate is beyond thrilled.

  • Gah! Kitchen tiles. I should have said something. Sorry. I didn’t think. I’m so glad to hear she’s settled in, though. I can’t tell you how much Rosie and I both appreciate this. I’m glad to hear Kate is all excited too. :)

    • You should have seen us trying to coax her in the back door and through the kitchen after walking her around the block to let her into the back yard. :) I finally resorted to bribing her with cheese to get all four feet through the door. Her complete conviction that I’m in ultimate peril when I’m in the kitchen is awfully cute.

      • Have you ever seen the Dog Whisperer?

I know, it sounds totally Hokey, but it is actually quite an excellent show. =)

The guy has some very basic and great ideas for dog owners. =)

      • *grin* The poor dear. I end up putting her food just inside the kitchen doorway, so she can stand on carpet and eat. She will, on rare occasions usually precipited by the dropping of cheetos, go so far as to put her front two feet into the kitchen and s-t-r-e-t-c-h to see if she can reach it, but she never will go all the way in.

  • Oh, and to be specific, she’s the sweetest brindle pit bull you’d ever want to meet. A dog even that curmudgeon Pramas could like. :)

  • I still think she’s got some boxer in her somewhere, but whatever she is, she’s Rosie. :)

I would agree with that. She doesn’t have that boxer smushy face but she’s definitely got more of a boxer body. She’s got that heavy pit bull skull, though.

I can totally see why you wanted to keep her when you found her. She’s a doll.
